Biography
Our Asian Art & Antiques collection spans the decorative and fine traditions of China, Japan and beyond — porcelain and pottery, bronze and cloisonné, scrolls and screens, carvings and objects for the scholar's table. Each piece is described by its medium, dimensions and condition, with period or dynasty noted only where it can be reasonably supported; where age or attribution is uncertain, we state that plainly rather than overclaim. We select for craftsmanship and character — a well-potted glaze, a finely cast bronze, the patina that only time gives — across pieces that range from accessible to serious. Because much of this material is antique and one of a kind, availability shifts continually.
