Biography
Jozza (Brazilian, b. 1958) creates exuberant, color-saturated pop art that radiates the warmth of his native Brazil. Born in Hidrolândia, he first came to the United States as a professional soccer player before devoting himself fully to art — becoming, by his own account, the first and only formal student of the celebrated pop artist Romero Britto. Jozza's style is unmistakable: bold black outlines, electric color, and joyful, dreamlike figures that nod to Picasso and the Cubist tradition while remaining wholly his own.
Pop Art & Hand-Embellished Giclées
Many of his works are released as hand-embellished giclées — and the distinction matters to collectors. A giclée is a high-resolution archival inkjet print, prized for its color fidelity and longevity; a hand-embellished giclée is one the artist personally enhances with original brushwork and texture, so that no two are ever exactly alike. The result is collectible pop art with the spontaneity and unique surface of an original painting and the accessibility of an edition.
Collecting Jozza
That blend of joyful, instantly readable imagery and genuine hand-finishing has made his work a favorite among collectors who want contemporary pop art with energy, optimism, and a one-of-a-kind quality.
